Good news to all government employees!

President Rodrigo Duterte signed into law the Salary Standardization Law of 2019 (SSL V) on January 8, 2020. With the enactment of the SSL, salary schedules of government workers will be increased in 4 tranches every January starting 2020 until 2023.

More than 1.5 million Philippine government employees, including public school teachers, nurses, doctors and other civil service workers, are set to receive higher salaries with the signing of the new Salary Standardization Law (SSL).

SSL 5 takes effect January 1, 2020

The first tranche of the newly-approved SSL V is retroactive and takes effect beginning January 1, 2020. Under the law, the minimum basic salary of a first-level government employee (Salary Grade 1) will increase from P11,068 to P11,068 after the first tranche.

An employee whose salary grade is SG10 will now receive a monthly salary of P20,219, while an employee with salary grade 20 will receive P52,703.00 monthly.

The President whose salary grade is SG33 (step 2, he has been in office for more than three years) will see his salary growing to P407,734 per month compared to his P399,739 monthly salary last year.

Here is the approved SSL V 2020-2023 Salary Grade (SG) Table:
